Thickening - Inclined Screw Thickener

Request Product Information

In many cases, stock consistency is insufficient to feed an upstream thickening equipment or for storage purposes. Typically, when stock is accepted from medium consistency screening at 3% consistency, or by a conventional drum thickener, a complementary thickening up to 15% is often required. The inclined screw thickeners designed by Kadant apply to all production figures and most applications. They can also be used as washers to remove fillers, and inks in some specific applications.

Working principle

Stock is fed at medium consistency into an inlet header and lifted by a screw to the upper section of the equipment. A basket with holes provides good de-watering, using gravity to induce water to fall through while stock cannot go through the holes. The typical accept consistency is between 10% to 17%.
