The Gyroclean
The most efficient concept for lightweight contaminant removal
The Gyroclean is a patented device based on technology licensed from CTP. The aim is to
eliminate any impurity of density less than 1 with much higher efficiency than any conventional reverse cleaner.
Working Principle
The basic Working Principle involves a high speed-rotating cylinder. The stock is introduced into this cylinder and accelerated in rotation by the inlet head. The pulp peripheral tangential speed is somewhat higher than the speed of the cylinder in order to optimize the turbulence level in order to ease the passage of light contaminants towards the axis of the cylinder. The accepts are extracted at the opposite end by a second rotating head which also recovers the main part of the kinetic energy imparted by the inlet head. Lightweight contaminants migrate to the vortex core and are extracted through a central pipe.

- Wood pulp: removal of plastic beads
- Annual plant pulp: removal of polypropylene beads and wires, e.g. bagasse, cotton linters
- Waste paper pulp: removal of stickies, plastic beads, polystyrene, polyethylene films, some adhesives, hot-melt fragments, waxes
- Deinked pulp for newsprint, printing and writing, tissue
- Approach flow: fine grades, currency paper, coating base, etc…
