Doctor Blade Holders
Proper doctoring is critical to problem-free papermaking and goes far beyond choice of doctor blade. The blade holder is also vitally important. Holders must position the blade firmly against the roll, accommodate roll surface irregularities and, within limits, compensate for thermal expansion and facilitate rapid blade changes. Accumate blade holders retain the blade firmly against the roll while providing the adjustability to match roll surface irregularities, as well as allow for a wide range of thermal expansion.
Accuclean blade holders are recommended for rolls in difficult-to-reach or dirty locations, or where blade changing is troublesome. Its "open fingertip", self-cleaning design assists with the removal of dirt with each blade change and eliminates clogging. It is available in Stainless Steel and is a direct replacement for most other blade holders. Application Data Sheet 136 A
Standard Conformatic blade holders provide uniform pressure across the full width of the roll face. A sealed tube automatically conforms the blade tip to changing roll conditions. The result is consistently good doctoring at lower loading pressures which extends roll and blade life.
Equalizer blade holders provide precise blade-to-roll fit by applying pressure across the blade holder through a liquid-filled equalizing tube. The liquid-filled equalizing tube also permits quick, "on-line" blade angle changes. Compact in design, the Equalizer Doctor can enhance sheet shedding, eliminate sheet wraps, reduce picking and holes and extend roll and blade life.
DST blade holders are constructed with flexible top plates reinforced by solid Stainless Steel loading fingers. Pneumatic pressure applied to the loading fingers provides precise blade-to-roll fit, improving doctoring and extending blade and roll life.
DST-E blade holders are more flexible than our standard DST and are intended for "light-duty", non-sheet-shedding positions. The compact design allows for installations in tight areas. The load tube is in direct contact with the top plate, creating a seal which stops debris from entering the holder. Pneumatic pressure applied directly to the top plate provides precise blade-to-roll fit improving doctoring and extending blade and roll life.
Sta-Clean DST blade holders are the latest in the DST line. This improved version is equipped with a solid stainless steel tube tray which resists damage. This holder stays clean inside the tube area because the load tube is in contact with the top plate. In addition, for those exceptionally dirty applications, the holder can be fitted with a front sealing apron that isolates the tube area even more. This low profile design easily replaces older style DST's as well as any other style of blade holder.
